The 100-Hour Ten Week Challenge was inspired by the participants of the Biggest Loser League. Seeking a way to be held accountable for their exercise, and looking for a goal that exceeded even their own expectations – this challenge was born.
Participants will strive to be active for 100-hours over a ten week period. This will allow each individual to start out at their own level of activity and continually increase their fitness level each week to achieve the 100-hour goal. Any and all activity that is completed as defined in the rules below will be counted towards this goal. The Challenge is open to all members of The Biggest Loser League who have signed up prior to the deadline.
Each person who completes this 100-Hour Challenge will be entered into a random drawing for several small incentive items. You can find a list of these items at the end of the rules.

Official Rules and Regulations For Participation:
1. Only those Biggest Loser League Members signed up for the Challenge by 9:00pm Eastern on December 28, 2008 may participate in this challenge.
2. The Challenge will last for a ten-week period, starting on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 6:00am and ending on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 9:00pm Eastern. Only hours from this time period will be counted towards your challenge goal.
3. Participants agree to achieve their personal best, and strive to increase their individual performance each week, to obtain a goal of 100-hours of activity within the 10-week period. {Hour Allowances should be made in advance for individuals with special needs – such as illness or injury}. The point is – to challenge YOURSELF!
4. All participants have received the approval from their personal physician to participate in physical activity, and hold the moderator(s) of this Challenge, the Biggest Loser and NBC from any and all liability. Basically – each person is responsible for themselves! This event is NOT sponsored or endorsed by The Biggest Loser or NBC, or any of their sponsors and/or affiliates.
5. Participants are asked to create an exercise ticker at TickerFactory.com, with the total weekly hours posted at the end of each week before 9:00pm Eastern on Sunday nights. Please place this ticker in your signature here at the Message Forums. Instructions for Tickers can be found here. Participants may also sign up for the President’s Challenge and join the Biggest Loser League group #77703 – to allow for group tracking. {this is optional}
6. If a participant fails to complete their hours two weeks in a row .. they will be dropped from the Challenge unless other arrangements are made with the moderator {ie: pre-arranged vacation}.
7. Participants are encouraged to discuss their journeys with the other participants here on the message forums, and to offer support to individuals on their personal profile comments.
8. Methods of obtaining activity hours include: Walking, Jogging, Running, Swimming, Elliptical training, Cycling, Rowing, aerobics, hockey, Wii Sports, Jillian Michaels for Wii, Wii Fit and/or any combination of these exercises. Other forms not listed may be used when first discussed with the moderator(s). Daily background walking – ie: around the office or house – can not be used in this challenge. The Exercise must be purposeful with the intent to increase your heart rate and burn calories.
9. The Moderator(s) will check each Participants Ticker here at the Message Boards every Sunday night at 9:00pm Eastern to obtain your hour totals for the week. This information will be compiled into a spreadsheet and shared in this Message Board thread – along with an overall team mileage total.
10.Any additional concerns or questions should be addressed below … and participants should check in at least once a week for updates concerning the challenge.
11. All participants who complete their 100-hours within the ten week period defined above will be entered in to a drawing for several incentive items. At this time – those incentives include: $25 Borders.com Gift Cards; $15 Starbucks Gift Card, $25 Amazon.com gift certificate, My Coke Rewards points to be redeemed for a variety of magazine subscriptions, and iTunes Gift Certificates. Items may be added to this list if additional incentive donations are received – and the moderator reserves the right to substitute incentives of equal value as needed.

At this time any activity not listed in the rules above will be considered and the moderator will let you know if it’s been approved.

Once again – this is NOT an NBC or Biggest Loser sanctioned Challenge – but an activity organized by the members themselves. You are strongly encouraged to see your doctor before participating in any new exercise program.
