Hi,
I was up late last night and saw and infomercial for a set of exercise dvd's "melt it off with mitch" (by mitch gaylord ex-gymnast) It guaranteed that you would lose at least 1 pant size, 5.5 lbs, and .72 inches in the first three days alone. I am wondering if anyone has used it and liked it. Even if I don't lose that exactly, if it is an effective workout I'm always looking for new things to switch up my routine and I might be interested in it. ( like a variety of things I do walk away the lbs, slim in 6, pilates, karen voight's dvd's, tom Hollands abs dvd, Billy Blanks boot camp, I have a gazelle and treadmill, an elliptical, a few freeweights and a total body gym. ) If anyone has tried it or heard anything about it I'd really appreciate the feedback....Thanks! Brenda
Keep in mind - in order for you to lose 5.5 pounds of FAT - you'll have to burn off 19,250 calories. If the DVD is claiming you'll lose that much weight in just three days ... well ... it has to be all water weight. There is no way humanly possible to lose that much FAT in a three day time period.
Let's do the math. We'll use my goal BMR of 1,500 calories a day. This is what I consume ... so without any additional exercise my calories in and out are equal. In order to drop 19,250 calories in 3 days - I would need to burn off 6,416.6 calories per day. One hour of vigorous bike riding burns about 700 calories - so I would have to ride my bike for 9 hours each day - keeping my heart rate between 135-155 the entire time - in order to burn off 5.5 pounds in FAT. Even the contestants on the Biggest Loser Ranch don't put in that much cardio a day!!
Anytime it sounds too good to be true ... it usually is.
I know you said you wouldn't mind using the DVD even if the promised results weren't there. But I'm on this personal mission to STOP false claims in diet and exercise programs. So personally I wouldn't give any of my hard earned money to an organization that makes these false and misleading claims .. but that's just me.
