I am looking to buy a new pair of running shoes. I have shox right now but they dont have enough arch support I get killer shin splints. Just wanted to see what everyones favorites were~

Reeboks or Skechers
Check out a Reebok outlet store for some good prices.

I love the asics cumulus. It is the most comfortable shoe I ever had. I have short, wide feet.

If you have a specialty running store around, you should get fitted properly so you can have a gait analysis. They tell you what type of shoes will work best for you. I went to a sporting goods store and bought a pair of great running shoes (Asics) and they gave me shin splints terribly. Once I got fitted in a proper shoe (Brooks), I have zero pain. I used to have to ice down my shins every time I came inside. I don't have to do that anymore. It is really nice. No matter what shoes work for other people, they might not work for you. Just my two cents, from someone who has been there.
(I use my great Asics as my gym shoes now and that really works for me!)

I love the Asics I bought. I will definately buy another of the same when it's time. They have a mesh type top to them that keeps your feet cool.
Seems to be the theme so far....

Elle: Did you find a pair of sneakers yet? Just wondering. I bought nikes but I don't care for them. They are ok for the gym but when I get off the treadmill or done power walking the balls of my feet hurt. I am considering another pair just for running/walking.

I need to find a really good pair of shoes, too. The ones that I have are decent, but sometimes my right foot will start to cramp and I'll have to adjust my position. I'm such a tightwad when it comes to spending money on myself, but this is something that I know I need to do to increase my chance of being successful this time.
Are there other ways to get the 'perfect shoe for your feet' if you don't have any kind of specialty store nearby? I'd probably have to drive into Oak Ridge or Knoxville to find that, and I'd rather not make that drive if I don't have too.

I love my New Balance shoes for the treadmill but have noticed when I walk on pavement or gravel my feet hurt really bad with those shoes... but they are very supporitve and comfy for the treadmill.
