I just got done walking my second mile at work and just totaled up all my calories so far today. I was doing fine until lunch time. I brought my own lunch and ate it. Then about a half hour later I got wicked hungry for some reason and of couse, stupid me, goes down to the cafeteria to get something to eat. Naturally I have blown it today. It's only 2pm and I am already at 2100 calories! Wtf is wrong with me!? I ended up consuming 882 calories on this freaking break down or whatever you call it. No idea what caused me to do this. I feel like crap and I know I have to eat something when I get home tonight, but i think it's going to be just an apple or something because I am way over what I should be today. I needed to get this off my chest, so that's why I posted it here. Time to go and crawl under a rock now....

We need to find alternate foods for you to munch on when you have an attack like this. And some distractions. When you have time .... look online for some healthy alternatives that you could keep at your desk. AND ... I want you to write a blog post about how you were feeling when the craving hit. Remember ... it is only when we understand the demon that we can beat him!

Don't beat yourself up. Realize what you did wrong, and remember how you feel right now. The next "attack" stop and read back the blog you posted about this attack ... and find another option. Drink water. Take a walk over the co-workers desk and chat for a minute. Then if you're STILL hungry - eat one of your healthier alternatives.

It's ok! We all give into weakness sometimes. I know it makes you feel like crap, but
sometimes the urge to eat is stronger than our willpower.

What's important is where you go from here. You can't dwell on the past, because there's nothing
you can do to change it. (Still working on that time machine, btw. smile.gif Just make sure that you get back
on track so that this is an isolated incident instead of a downward spiral.

Did something happen at work to stress you out? Did you sleep well the night before?

How are you feeling now? Let us know.

Well, I feel a bit better now since my little "episode" earlier today. I walked for 2 miles at work and I did 4 miles on the treadmill this evening for a total walking of 6 miles. Now that I am tired and covered in sweat, it's time to hit the shower and get to bed. Tomorrow should be better I hope. Oh, I am getting new shoes on Saturday. Yeah, running shoes...go figure. That means I am totally serious and committed now, hehe!
