Id like to add that I really wouldnt put this dvd in the 'relaxing' category...LOL..
While it defo CAN, be if more relaxing if you gear it down, maybe dont do things as fast changing paced as Bob has you going.
I totaly know what you mean tho steffyjo.... Im just kinda ribbing you as its kinda/pretty hard, yet easy, yes relaxing in an odd kinda way, for me,...lol...

I think Id call it an aggressive/active relaxational dvd...LOL..
Does that make sense?
I love doing it on days I want a lil xtra on top of what Ive done or just need a lower impacting workout!

Again, One of my favorite parts is when we are stretching our arms out and Bob says "BEAUTIFUL"! At that moment I actualy 'recieve it' and truely feel Beautiful...Isnt that cool? I cant workout to anyone else right now...lol..

This DVD is a must have.
Even my oldest son liked it(did part of it over Christmas) and is now doing some of the moves Bob taught for his track stretching...LOL... He liked that it wasnt all weird with tree poses and such...lol..kids are funny..."Its a real workout mom"...LOL..

I think on Bobs facebook someone said they had their yoga instructor friend do Bobs weight loss yoga dvd with her and afterwards her friend remarked " That was not Yoga...That was Yoga on steroids"...HA HA HA...So true...kinda says it all doesnt it?
K, so just thought Id throw that into the mix as 'my 'take' on it not really being 'relaxing' per say...
altho the last few minutes of cool down are defo Sooo relaxing and that Im yawning& sweating all over the place & ready for a quick nap...LOL...
hmm..think I will go see him now...xoxo...Dawnie

OK, I cant edit my last post at this point so Im adding a new reply to BL WL Yoga being RELAXING...

Sat I was starting to get sick, but still wanted to get some workout in without overdoing it...
So I thought Id do my BL WL Yoga...
As I began I wanted to focus on the 'relaxing' part of the dvd..

Yes, Its still Yoga on Steroids, BUT...
It really was sooooo very relaxing this day and was a perfect workout for needing something, but not aerobic like...

Ok, anyway, I just wanted to throw that on top of my last comment...lol..
All in all...Great dvd to use whether needing lower impact workout(still need to watch knees tho), changing up your routine, or adding an 'after' workout to one of your other aerobic/bootcamp workouts...
I like it alot...

I got the Weight Loss Yoga for Christmas. Last week I did the whole thing all three levels. I think that was the first time I got through all of them. It took about 50 minutes. I was really sweating at the end. Those downward dog moves will really work your muscles. The next day I felt like every muscle in my body was worked. I also did Boot Camp the same day, so I don't know which one kicked my butt more. Both are a good combination on days when you are doing weitht training and Cardio and Yoga.

Of all the dvd's, the yoga is by far the hardest...in a good way. Good Lord, I was literally dripping sweat. First off it proved just how much I lack in flexibility. LOL.

It was so much harder and demanding then I thought a Yoga video would be. I totally loved it though. I think my favorite pose was the warrior pose...lol.

Definately recommend it. I remember watching season 5 and that episode where they were doing Yoga in Australia..and thinking to myself..suck it up buttercup to those who complained, thinking "how hard can it be".

I stand corrected! tongue.gif

I have BL Yoga, Boot camp, Power Sculpt and Cardio Max. I alternate them. The yoga is great. I've never really done yoga before and I like it. I can't WAIT until it's warm out!

The BL Yoga...how do you know how many calories you've burned? Is there a calculator somewhere for this? I'm not sure what "type" of yoga this is. Can anyone help me? I'm really wanting to keep track of calories in, calories out and I want to do this alternating with cardio (ick).

We just got the biggest loser weight loss yoga last week and my daugher and I have been doing it....can I just say OUCH???!!!! Wow, that is one tough little work out and you don't even realize it. I am so NOT flexible, which is why I started looking for a yoga workout, and boy did I find one. I'm going to keep trying to do it every other day, and hopefully with time, I'll actually be able to do the poses as they were meant to be done - lol tongue.gif

As far as calories go, I have a heart rate monitor that I was able to get fairly cheap that keeps track of how many calories you burn while working out. Other than that, you can probably find some sites that would give a pretty good estimate of how many calories you may burn based on age, weight, height and exertion level. The yoga may not be as high on the calorie burn as some of the other dvd's because your heart rate doesn't get as high, but it is still an excellent workout and is great for strength.

I've been a little afraid to try the yoga because I have very little flexibility....although it has gotten better. I may have to try it...I've heard so much good about it. Thanks for sharing.

Brian -
I am FAR from flexible and have really enjoyed the yoga when I've done it. I don't take the time to do it nearly enough, probably, but when I do it's always a good workout smile.gif

Brian - you should definitely try it. I am not at all flexible, but that is one of my goals and the trainer at the gym said the yoga was the best way to increase flexibility and build strength at the same time. You just have to modify the "poses" at first until your body is strong enough...believe me, I am modifying - lol. We also have the biggest loser boot camp and I try to do that one on the weekends since I can't make it to the gym. It's another really good dvd if you haven't tried it. I got lucky and found them both at walmart - on sale no less - for $10 each. Can't beat that! tongue.gif

I got the BL Yoga DVD in the mail yesterday. My wife mentioned wanting to try some type of Yoga and I thought that was my opportunity to get the DVD. Can't wait to try it. I'll let you know how much pain it causes..LOL!!

Definitely let me know how you both like it! Just remember not to be discouraged if you can't do the full poses right from the beginning. That was frustrating for me, I wanted to jump right in there and hold the "pose" and do it "right" the first time - lol. I spoke to one of the instructors at the gym and she very bluntly but nicely pointed out that it is not something you can just jump into so that made me feel better. I hope you enjoy it! Wait until you see weeks 5-6 - it's doing some of the same moves but with light handweights. tongue.gif

I love the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. I do it NOW....this took me quite a while....with Biggest Loser Bootcamp together. I love doing the Bootcamp first and then following it with the yoga. Believe me....I couldn't even get through the first level of ONE of them when I first started. It was baby steps. I started them back in February and I have been doing them together for about 2 weeks now...I get a better workout with these than anything else.......so much better than with my elliptical rider.

I'm not going in with any expectation of being able to hold poses or complete the workout. I've definitely learned to be realistic about my ability when I start doing something new. I do look forward to seeing improvement as time goes by though. Thanks for the support. Brian

Confession time:) I have had The Yoga DVD since April when I was up in WA and it is staring at me waiting to be opened and I LOVE YOGA. My monthly goal is to do one of the DVDs once a week or more so I think today will be the day. You all make me want to get started. Yay inspiration:)

Confession time huh? Well if you must pull my arm.... here's mine. smile.gif

I also have BL Yoga and I probably got it back in February. I've used it maybe 2 or 3 times. It was quite a workout and I really liked it, but I fell off my exercise wagon after the 100 Hour Challenge was over in March. I've only exercised 60 minutes since March. There, it's out.

And like you, the crazy thing is is that I LOVE yoga. Go figure.

Your monthly goal of using at least one DVD a week sounds very easy so I think I'll join you. I've moved recently and we still don't have our DVD player hooked up but I know exactly where my fitness DVD's are. smile.gif

I have the BL Yoga and really need to commit to it a few times a week too. I also have Jillians 30 day shred and a couple of walk away the pounds dvds. I am working on a plan now that alternates my videos to keep it exciting and not kill me all at once LOL. My walk away the pounds have been my most consistent used. Not sure why but I am going to change it starting now!

This is my first Biggest Loser product- and I love it. Now, I've never done Yoga before, so the names of the poses and making sure I'm doing them correctly hasn't come easily. But I just do what I can and make sure I look at the folks on the screen to see if my form is close enough. I can well appreciate the trainer that said this is Yoga on steroids! It was harder than I had anticipated, but it is a great strength training toning dvd!

I also have been using it differently than apparently a lot of the other reviewers. My normal routine is to do the Warm Up, Yoga 1, and Yoga 2, then Cool Down. That is approximately 45 minutes of a workout. And let me tell you ...my wrists can tell! (Years of typing make them a little weak...but again, I do what I can!) I didn't even add Yoga 3 to the workout until today - and I did the entire DVD. [I'm going to feeling that!]

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Try to use 1-2 mats, as well as put yourself on carpet. SAVE YOUR KNEES. While I've never had any knee surgeries, I do have bad knees. Or they were bad and are slowly getting better. BUT if you have a hard floor surface, use more than one mat and a towel to cushion your knees. When I first started this workout I thought I was going to die because I simply couldn't put the weight on my knees!

2. Have your free weights and a water ball handy if you wish. Yoga 2 uses the water ball and Yoga 3 uses the weights.

3. It is challenging. It really is. I just keep telling myself when I get tired that if the contestants that weigh 200's, 300's or more can push themselves to do things....I can too! And it helps to remember that.

4. Your HR will go up a little. Not to a true aerobic level but it will go up and I was actually sweating pretty hard by the time I finished Yoga 3. OH BOY! I was pleased to see by my HR Watch that I burned 363 calories today by doing the entire DVD.

5. The music isn't very inspiring, but Bob is a great instructor.

I think my next DVD purchase is going to be Jillian's "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism".....

Thumbs up for this DVD!
